Some people say,

“Time is gold”

However, the reality is that it is more precious than gold. As for gold, it is dispensable. But as for time, it is indispensable. Rather, it is the path to everything that Allaah is pleased with and brings one closer to Him.

It is your vessel, O slave of Allaah, where you place in it good and evil. So it is befitting for you to cleanse this vessel and to not store anything in it, except that which will benefit you.

The night and the day are two mounts and two vaults where good and evil are accumulated and which will take the slave to the end. So it is befitting for him to protect and safeguard them and to not accumulate anything in them except that which will benefit him from speech.
